Sandy Ortiz started at WSH as a Patient Aide on both the Admissions program area and the Multi-Needs program area. After seven years in direct patient care, Sandy took an administrative support position in the hospital’s Nursing Department as a timekeeper and payroll specialist. In January of 2022, she transferred to the Psychology Department to further expanded her skills and gain experience in the administrative aspects of healthcare.
She is fur mom to three pit bulls, as well as a miniature dachshund, and mutt Eve, who sometimes comes to visit us here at work and put smiles on our faces. Sandy is also mom to one human child, although sometimes she questions whether or not he’s is in fact human.
In her spare time, Sandy loves to read historical fiction and romance books, crochet, cross stich and watch endless re-runs of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.–and she also enjoys British television shows. How that became her thing is unknown. She also has been working on traveling the world and marking off places on her bucket list. Next up, Japan in June 2026!
