Dr. Noelle Sheppard

Dr. Noelle Sheppard completed her Psy.D. at Northwest University. She has worked with clients of all ages and in a range of clinical settings. Her current interests include substance use disorders, personality disorders, and forensic evaluations. Dr. Sheppard primarily works on the Acute Services Unit and assists the interns throughout the year on intakes, evaluations, or patient consultations.

Her theoretical orientation is Cognitive/Cognitive Behavioral theory. She enjoys the observable aspects of behavior/learning and covert characteristics of high-order cognition to replace maladaptive behavior/thoughts and help patients. Dr. Sheppard uses a Psychodynamic approach to supervision, more specifically, the supervisory-matrix-centered approach. During the supervisory process, she focuses mostly on the patient, their presenting problems, and how to help treat them. However, when appropriate, she will focus on the supervisee as a professional interacting with patients or the relationship between supervisor and supervisee.

In her spare time, Dr. Sheppard enjoys music, reading, her family, and her Doberman.
