Eric “Sean” Pastor

Sean Pastor received his B.A. degree in Psychology from San Jose State University in 2017 and his M.A. degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in 2021. He has primarily worked in hospitals, nursing homes, and community mental health settings in the San Francisco Bay Area with clients of all age ranges and ethnic backgrounds. His interests involve working with adults, forensics, and assessments.

Sean currently serves as the Director of Acute Services for the Psychology Department at Western State Hospital. His focal responsibilities, along with the acute treatment team (consisting of amazing social workers, nurses, recreation therapists, dietitians, and psychiatrists), include developing specific treatment plans for patients on the acute units, leading morning case staffing meetings, assigning patient transfers from admissions, coordinating unit bed space and patient movement, determining possible AOT clients, regulating treatment team meetings, and preparing patients for discharge. Additionally, Sean also conducts intake assessments for patients who have been newly admitted. In his work with clients, he gravitates towards a Cognitive-Behavioral Theory approach.

When he’s not in the hospital (working), he can be found playing the bass or guitar, rooting for his NBA/NFL/MLB teams, exploring trendy food spots, researching puns to annoy his coworkers, playing basketball at one of the courts in town, practicing target shooting at a local range, or watching the greatest movie of all time: Titanic.
